Monthly Salary Breakdown

Agniveers receive a structured pay package with annual increments over their four-year tenure. Additional allowances such as risk & hardship, ration, dress, and travel are also provided on top of base pay.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold one of the following minimum qualifications depending on the post applied for:

  • Class 12th Pass – for posts like Clerk and Technical
  • Class 10th / Matric Pass—with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks across five core subjects and at least 33% marks in each subject individually
  • Class 8th Pass – for certain Tradesman categories
  • Grading System Boards – Grades equivalent to the prescribed percentages will be accepted
  • Indian Gorkha Applicants – A simple Class 10th pass is sufficient

Note for Awaiting Results Students: Those who have appeared in the Class 10th board examinations but are yet to receive their marksheets can still apply provisionally. However, original marksheets will be mandatory at the time of Phase II recruitment.

Special Age Relaxation: Widows of Defence personnel who lost their lives while in active service are eligible to apply up to 30 years of age (calculated as of the date of joining training). Women who are widowed, divorced, or legally separated—and do not have children—are also eligible. Widows of defense personnel, even those with children, may apply for Women Military Police enrollment, provided they have not remarried.

Selection Process – Two Phases

Phase I – Common Entrance Exam (CEE) A computer-based test conducted at designated centers across the country. Admissions to the exam will be based on admit cards issued to provisionally shortlisted candidates. The exam is tentatively scheduled between June 1 and June 15, 2026.

Phase II – Recruitment Rally Candidates shortlisted based on their CEE scores will be called for a Recruitment Rally at designated venues. This phase involves the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Medical Examination, and Document Verification. Final merit is based on aggregated CEE and PFT scores.

The Indian Army emphasizes that the selection process is completely transparent and merit-based. Candidates are advised not to engage with any agents or middlemen claiming to influence results—no bribe or payment of any kind is involved or required at any stage.
