Contract Purchase Officer Recruitment 2026 has been notified by the Government of India, Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production vide Vacancy Circular F. No. 12(3)/2025-D(Coord/DDP) dated 26 November 2025. The Contract Purchase Officer Recruitment 2026 is for filling up one post of Contract Purchase Officer (General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) on a deputation basis. As per the Office Memorandum dated 17 February 2026, the last date for receipt of application has been extended up to 02.04.2026. Applications are required to be forwarded through the proper channel in the prescribed format along with the requisite documents. The Contract Purchase Officer Recruitment 2026 eligibility conditions, pay level, period of deputation, and age limit are specified in Annexure-I of the circular.
(i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR (ii) With five years’ regular service in Level 10 (Rs. 56100–177500) in the Pay Matrix [Pay Band 3: Rs. 15600–39100 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/- (pre-revised)] or equivalent in the parent cadre or department
Experience
Possessing five years’ experience in drafting and issue of contract documents and supply orders and dealing with contractual matters relating to purchase and supplies

Officers who volunteer for the post will not be permitted to withdraw their names later.
Only applications accompanied by requisite personal data, certificates, and documents will be considered.
Applications received after the due date will not be considered.
Period of deputation including period in another ex-cadre post shall ordinarily not exceed four years.
The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.
