Department of Defence Production Planning Officer Recruitment 2026 has been notified vide circular No. 18(1)/2026/PO(LS)/DP(A&C) dated 09 February 2026 for appointment to the post of Planning Officer (Land Systems) in the Directorate of Planning & Coordination, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. The post is to be filled on a deputation basis.
As per the notification, one post of Planning Officer (LS) in Pay Band IV (VI CPC) in the pay scale of Rs. 37400–67000/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 8700/- in the Directorate of Planning & Coordination, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, is anticipated to fall vacant shortly. The appointment will be made by transfer on deputation.
In respect of service officers, the applicant should be of the rank of Colonel/Group Captain/Captain from Army/Air Force/Navy respectively. The job specifications include processing defence capital acquisition cases pertaining to Land Systems, in-depth understanding of procedural frameworks governing RFI, SQR, AoN and related capital procurement stages under Defence Acquisition Procedure, coordination with Indian industry including private and public sectors, conducting technology scans in the domain of defence Land Systems, representation of Department of Defence Production in Project Facilitation Teams for Make projects, close interaction with R&D organizations, DPSUs and industry federations, and monitoring of projects under the division.
Department of Defence Production Planning Officer Recruitment 2026 further prescribes essential and desirable qualifications, mode of eligibility, terms of deputation, and detailed application procedure. The period of deputation ordinarily will not exceed five years. The selected officer on deputation shall have pay regulated as per existing government orders and service officers shall continue to draw pay and allowances from their respective CDAs in case of selection.
