IISc Admission 2026-27

IISc Admission 2026-27 has been announced by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore-560012 vide Notification No. IISc/Acad/Admission/2026/01 dated 04-02-2026. Applications are invited from eligible applicants for admission to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Research and Integrated Programmes for the Academic Year 2026-27 (Session starting from August 2026).

The programmes covered under IISc Admission 2026-27 include Research Programmes (PhD/MTech Research), External Registration Programme (ERP), PG Programmes (MTech, MDes, M.Mgt), Integrated PhD Programmes, Bachelor of Science (Research), and Sponsored/ER candidates. Admission will be based on national level entrance tests such as GATE, NET, JRF, JAM, JEST, CAT and other qualifying examinations as specified in the notification.

Eligibility Criteria

Research Programmes (PhD)

  • Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent.
  • Valid GATE score/NET JRF as applicable.
  • Additional eligibility varies by discipline as specified.

MTech Programmes

  • BE/BTech or equivalent in relevant discipline.
  • Valid GATE score.
  • Selection is based on 100% GATE score or as specified by the department.

M.Mgt Programme

  • Graduate with a valid CAT score.
  • Selection is based on CAT and performance in interview.

Integrated PhD

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Valid JAM/JEST or other qualifying examination as specified.

BS (Research)

  • Completion of 10+2 or equivalent examination.
