The Jal Shakti Consultant Recruitment 2026 has been announced by the Office of the Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. Applications are invited in the prescribed format from suitable candidates for engagement as consultants in the Principal Accounts Office, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. The engagement is intended for conducting an internal audit of schemes under the department.
As per the official notification, a total of six posts have been notified for the position of Consultant. The engagement will be on a contractual basis for a period of one year. The job location for the selected candidates will be Delhi, specifically at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. The recruitment is open to retired officers belonging to the CCAS cadre at the levels of Assistant Accounts Officer, Accounts Officer, and Senior Accounts Officer.
Candidates applying for Jal Shakti Consultant Recruitment 2026 must meet the eligibility conditions as specified. The applicant must be a graduate in any discipline and should have retired within the last four years, that is, on or after 01 June 2022. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in risk-based scheme audits and those who have undergone long-term audit training.
The maximum age limit for applicants is 64 years as on 01 June 2026. The remuneration for the selected candidates will be as per the Department of Expenditure Office Memorandum dated 09 December 2020. The remuneration shall be fixed by deducting the basic pension from the last pay drawn at the time of retirement. No House Rent Allowance shall be paid. Transport allowance will be applicable as per the same Office Memorandum.
